THS:UKI is thrilled to announce and welcome the appointment of Becky Conway as the new Chief Executive effective July 2022. Becky has over 10 years’ experience working within the marine sector, has a wide range of knowledge and skills in addition to her passion for the hydrographic industry. “Together with the THS:UKI Board, Becky will lead the delivery of the Society’s strategic objectives to provide members with a range of relevant support and valued specialist services.” said Trish Buxton, Chair of the THS:UKI Board.
“I am honoured and excited to take on the challenge of leading our Society and working with the Board to deliver our strategic objectives. I am delighted to have the chance to work closely with our Branches to promote hydrography across the UK and Ireland, whilst supporting our members and inspiring others to join the profession we are all so passionate about.” said Becky Conway, CEO, THS:UKI.
Finally, we’d like to acknowledge the work and impact of our departing Chief Executive, David Parker, who has stood down from the role to focus on his new position of Head of Hydrographic Programmes with the UK Hydrographic Office (and perhaps get more time for family and sailing!). During David’s two years in the role, he led a range of successful initiatives, including the formal expansion of the Society into Ireland and subsequent renaming and rebranding, the highly acclaimed Remote Hydrography Conference and Exhibition, and the development of the new Hydrographic Professional Accreditation Scheme (HPAS), which we have shared with the IFHS to create a multi-national scheme which is now recognised by the ICA/FIG/IHO. David will remain as a Director of THS:UKI, so won’t be too far away!
