The Hydrographic Society UK & Ireland (THS:UKI) is delighted to announce a new partnership with the University of Careers Service for the 2026 academic year, creating a dedicated Hydrographic mentoring pathway for students aspiring to join the seabed mapping profession. Through this collaboration, THS:UKI invite experienced hydrographic professionals from across its membership and wider industry network to act as volunteer mentors for students on the BSc Ocean Science and MSc Hydrography programmes. Mentors can provide students with invaluable guidance, industry insight, and professional support as they prepare to enter the hydrographic and marine surveying sectors.

The University of Plymouth will oversee the administration of the programme, including mentor and mentee recruitment, matching participants, providing mentor training, and monitoring and supporting the mentoring relationships throughout the programme.

The partnership reflects THS:UKI’s ongoing commitment to supporting the next generation of hydrographic professionals by connecting academia and industry.
