AML Oceanographic has fifty years of experience in designing and manufacturing high-performance hydrographic and oceanographic equipment for customers on all seven continents. Our after-sales support network is growing quickly with calibration centres in Canada, the Netherlands, the United States, Australia, and Singapore.

Three primary solutions – CTDs and multiparameter sondes, underway profiling, and hydrographic instrumentation – enable our customers to focus on the job, not the equipment.

AML was the original inventor of time-of-flight sound velocity sensors that are now heavily used in multibeam sonar systems. Additionally, we’re known for pioneering the design of field-swappable sensors. In CTDS and sondes, AML has the market’s most extensive sensor ecosystem, with an array of 20 different sensors that can be directly installed on the instrument end cap. Finally, in thirty years our team has delivered more underway profiling systems than any other company in the world, with over 200 small and large MVPs installed on autonomous platforms, small launches, and large vessels.

RIEGL LiDAR Technology for Airborne Topo-Bathymetry

The Austrian LiDAR system manufacturer RIEGL offers a broad portfolio of topo-bathymetric laser scanners and systems for applications in coastal and shallow water mapping or river surveying. Airborne LiDAR Bathymetry (ALB) enables high-resolution surveying of both above and below water surface topology with high efficiency. RIEGL systems are available for integration with crewed fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters, but also with drones. High-performance LiDAR technology provides an unrivalled detail of submerged targets like artificial structures, topographic features, or vegetation.

Due to its weight of below 10 kg (22 lbs), RIEGL’s latest development – the VQ-840-GL – is ideally suited for integration with drones.
