Tommy Furey

Tommy Furey is the Marine Institute’s Joint Programme Manager for INFOMAR, the Irish national seabed mapping programme, funded by the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications, and jointly managed with Geological Survey Ireland.

He is a geophysicist by background and currently manages the Advanced Mapping Services team, overseeing the offshore survey data acquisition, data analytics and dissemination, and research and innovation activities. He co-leads the seabed & benthic habitat mapping work package of the H2020 Mission Atlantic project, and is currently co-coordinating an INFOMAR programme review and foresight assessment, to identify future related requirements and opportunities.
