IIC Academy is pleased to announce that enrolments are now open for the 2026 deliveries of the IBSC* Recognised S-5B Hydrographic Surveyor and S-8B Marine Geospatial Programs.
The S-5B Hydrographic Surveyors Program will commence August 2026. This Program comprises 15 weeks of theoretical training followed by 7 weeks of practical and assessment. Students have up to 31 weeks to complete the theoretical training via online self-paced instructor supported learning. As hydrographic surveying is a practical discipline the 7-week practical brings the students and instructors together for enjoyable and intensive hands-on learning and assessment period. The Practical for this Program is planned to be delivered in Warrnambool, Australia commencing May 2027, and also in Europe if student numbers allow. We are pleased to announce that the practical will be supported by Deakin University, ARC LIEF Project, Seismic Asia Pacific, Acoustic Imaging and QPS.
The S-8B Marine Geospatial (Nautical Cartography) Program will be delivered as a 22-week Global Delivery, maximising online learning methods and will commence in September 2026. This Programme provides students with the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge and skills required to undertake Nautical Chart production.
The S-5B Hydrographic Surveyors Program modules can now also be delivered individually to suit your training requirements and areas of development that you would like to focus on.
S-100 training is now available; IIC have hosted numerous S-100 workshops and conducted training across the globe. IIC’s is the world leader in S-100 delivery with over 135 S-100 developments completed and are therefore well placed to meet to meet any of your organisation’s S-100 education or training needs. training.
These programs are for anyone and we are keen to see them utilised to grow the industry, so if you have friends, year 13 students or others you know who might be interested in pursuing a career in hydrography or cartography please pass this information to them as well.
