The Hydrographic Society UK & Ireland (THS:UKI) has officially opened the Call for Papers for Remote Hydrography 2027 Conference & Exhibition , inviting professionals, researchers and innovators from across the hydrographic and geospatial sectors to submit abstracts for presentation at its flagship international conference.

Taking place on 24-25 February 2027 at Dublin Castle, Ireland, Remote Hydrography 2027 is the third edition of the highly successful conference and exhibition dedicated to the rapidly evolving field of remote surveying and uncrewed survey operations. The event brings together manufacturers, operators, regulators and research and development leaders from industry and academia to explore the latest advances transforming hydrography.

Centred on the theme “Innovation, Application and Experience,” the conference will examine how autonomous and uncrewed platforms, including surface, underwater, aerial and space-based systems, along with enabling technologies such as machine learning and artificial intelligence, are revolutionising hydrographic data collection, processing, analysis and presentation. The programme will also address the opportunities and challenges surrounding risk, regulation and operational implementation through keynote presentations, panel discussions and practical case studies from both the inshore and offshore sectors.

THS:UKI are seeking presentations that share practical experience, innovative technologies, research outcomes and operational lessons learned. Submissions are encouraged from across the hydrographic and geospatial community, with particular interest in papers that demonstrate innovation in application or present compelling real-world case studies.

  • Future workforce, diversity and new opportunities
  • Low carbon and sustainability

Abstracts should comprise a title of up to 100 characters and a 300-word synopsis, accompanied by a short biography, head-and-shoulders photograph of each author, and details of their role and organisation. All submissions must be received by 30 September 2026 and sent to events@ths-uki.org. Authors will be notified following the review process before the final conference programme is announced.

THS:UKI particularly welcomes submissions from students and recent graduates, with grants and supported delegate places available to selected student and early career presentations. Successful speakers will also receive discounted conference registration.

Building on the success of the 2021 and 2024 conferences, Remote Hydrography 2027 promises two days of technical presentations, lively discussion and valuable networking opportunities, reinforcing its position as a leading forum for advancing remote hydrography and autonomous marine technologies.

Abstracts should be submitted to event@ths-uki.org by 30 September 2026. Authors should ensure they are available to present in Dublin on 24–25 February 2027, as presentations will form part of the conference’s live technical programme.
