Unmanned Survey Solutions (USS) has been undertaking unmanned hydrographic surveys since 2017. Many of these have been conducted using high resolution multibeam sonars and 3D mobile laser systems.

This presentation will show the various inspection surveys undertaken in ports, harbours and rivers utilising Unmanned Survey Solutions Inception and Accession class USV’s. Data will be presented from Bristol’s Floating Harbour, The Port of London and Conwy River.

These applications will discuss the challenges associated with moored vessels, fixed pontoons, overhanging trees and bridges all of which impact on the logistics, methodology and final data quality of the survey areas.
