Job Description – Survey Technician

Due to continued growth an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Survey Technician to join our Aberdeen base. The successful candidate will report to the Regional Technical and Operations Manager and will be responsible for ensuring our rental equipment is maintained to a high standard and ready for deployment. This role will be a combination of base and offshore work.

The ideal applicant will have previous experience in electronic engineering principles, techniques and practices.
The applicant will need to demonstrate a confident “can do” attitude in a fast-paced environment and must be a team player. The applicant will need to be an excellent communicator and offer exceptional attention to detail.

Salary: dependent on experience

Main Responsibilities

• Equipment maintenance and servicing in our Great Yarmouth workshop.
• Efficient and compliant preparation of equipment to meet client requests.
• Completion of post hire equipment checks and subsequent repairs/rectifications are undertaken.
• Visit client assets and assist in the delivery, commissioning, operations and troubleshooting of STR equipment.
• Working in partnership with other STR bases to ensure efficient movement of STR assets and utilising the STR asset tracking system.

Requirements of Role

• Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of electronics engineering principles, techniques and practices.
• Experience in working with Sonardyne, iXBlue, Kongsberg, Tritech, Teledyne, RTS, Valeport equipment as well as other industry standard equipment.
• Ideally the candidate will have knowledge of interfacing survey sensors with acquisition software and operating survey equipment as part of an offshore survey team.
• Competency to work unsupervised on offshore projects.
• Completion of offshore certification (e.g. ENG1, OGUK, STCW, BOSIET).
• Ability to work efficiently and safely under pressure and to deadline.
• Excellent communication and team working.
• Committed to hard work.
• Passionate to develop and progress in an industry recognised technology company.
