Experienced Online Surveyors

This is an exciting prospect to join the EGS Survey Department as an Online Surveyor. You will have the opportunity to work onboard EGS vessels around the world with industry leading survey sensors. The role has both offshore and onshore elements which will allow successful candidates to be part of a variety of different projects, with great opportunities for travel around the world.

Offshore you will be part of a hard-working and dedicated team working on complex projects in global locations. You will be responsible for set up and acquisition of high-quality navigation and bathymetric data on a variety of vessels in challenging marine environments.

Onshore you will form part of multidisciplinary team delivering our client focused products using industry leading techniques while contributing to the innovation and improvement technical work instructions and processing workflows within the department.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position and a university degree in Hydrography or a closely related marine discipline.
  • Experience in shallow water (< 200m) offshore windfarm and cable route surveys.
  • Proficient in mobilising and interfacing navigation configurations for survey equipment
  • Proficient in creating survey database (QINSy and BeamworX NavAQ) for diverse and dynamic projects, integrating a wide range of hydrographic, geophysical, and geotechnical survey instruments. Experienced in calibration and verification using land survey techniques e.g. TS and GNSS rovers
  • In-depth knowledge of equipment such as Kongsberg MBES, Applanix POS MV, C-Nav, Sonardyne USBL and SVP (AML MVP and Vale port Swift).
  • Strong acquisition experience in QINSy, Kongsberg SIS, Sonardyne Ranger.
  • Advance processing experience in Caris HIPS & SIPS, BeamworX, AutoClean and POSPac MMS.
  • Flexibility to work on Site work rotations (up to 6 weeks)
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work well under pressure in a team environment.
  • Eligible to work in the UK and possess a full UK driving licence.

Preferable that individuals live within or be willing to relocate to a commutable distance of the EGS office in Bordon, Hampshire.
