Job Description

The Surveyor is responsible for acquiring and processing accurate positioning data and assisting in managing and carrying out required tasks in the field as requested by the Party Chief or Project Manager. The surveyor will always work in accordance with company and client QHSE procedures.

This role is responsible for assuring the client needs are effectively met regarding offshore survey activities in adherence to project and company procedures as well as the scope of work.

Main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Actively participate in tool box talks and risk assessments
  • Installation, testing, calibration and operation of hydrographic and geophysical survey equipment to the required standards and in accordance with Client and Company specification and procedures.
  • Monitor data quality from all online survey systems during acquisition and report non conformance immediately
  • Record and report equipment calibrations
  • Record and report vessel/ROV and sensor offsets
  • Maintain accurate logs and records during survey operations
  • Calculate and compute survey results
  • Assist in survey reporting
  • Assist in the deployment and recovery of survey sensors as required by the Party Chief

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Qualification in an appropriate survey related subject.
  • HNC/HND qualification with appropriate field experience.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain, all industry required certificates to work offshore. Bosiet/OGUK etc.
  • Must obtain a valid passport and/or visas to travel internationally in countries the company operates in.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Demonstrated ability to learn from, and teach others, is highly desirable.
