Key Responsibilities:

  • As a Surveyor and Technical Support, you will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks aimed at ensuring the success of our customers’ operations and advancing our technology offerings. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing responsive onshore support by addressing email and telephone inquiries from customers, offering both reactive problem-solving and proactive suggestions for system improvements.
  • Offering offshore equipment and survey support to customers, including acting as an INS/acoustic operator and assisting in troubleshooting. This may involve participating in vessel visits, direct customer support, and collaborating with our senior engineers and surveyors.
  • Assisting Technology Services Senior Engineers and Surveyors in various tasks such as customer trials, LBL planning, INS simulations, data processing, workshops, presentations, training sessions, and industry/marketing events.
  • Producing detailed reports based on offshore visits, customer interactions, technical guidance, and other relevant activities to contribute to the development of workshops and white papers.
  • Communicating valuable feedback to internal departments, including Engineering, Software Development, and Global Business Managers, to drive product/system improvements and identify potential business opportunities.
  • Cultivating strong relationships with colleagues across international regional offices, fostering collaboration with departments like Systems Test, Engineering, Business Development, Direct Sales, Training, and Customer Support.
  • Staying up-to-date with our technology advancements, commercial processes, and company initiatives to engage in knowledgeable discussions with customers and efficiently address operational issues.
  • Elevating Sonardyne’s reputation by representing the company at marketing activities, maintaining contacts with trade organizations, and actively participating in industry-related events, including contributions to publications and conference presentations.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • A degree in a relevant field such as marine technology, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in technical support, survey operations, or a similar capacity within the maritime or underwater technology industry.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving, a deep understanding of operational procedures, and the ability to provide technical guidance.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers, colleagues, and internal departments.
  • Willingness to travel offshore and participate in industry events as needed.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A proactive attitude and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
