Responsibilities

  • Day to day management of the survey department
  • Allocate personnel resources to achieve project obligations.
  • Direct and manage the project work and resources of the department.
  • Ensure that the appropriate procedures and RAMS are developed to meet the department obligations and to comply with all relevant statutory and other regulations.
  • Establish and maintain effective monitoring to ensure that the department is providing the appropriate quality of service agreed with the customer.
  • Monitor the budget to ensure that budget targets are met.
  • Promote, and directly monitor the implementation of equal opportunity, anti-discrimination and, inclusiveness, policies in all aspects of the departments work.
  • Direct the implementation of company policies and procedures to ensure that the department complies with all health and safety and other statutory regulations.
  • Conduct employee appraisals and maintain discipline within the department.

Qualifications

  • A higher education degree in offshore surveying (ideally IHO Cat-A accredited) or related science-based subject.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of a variety of survey equipment, including Kongsberg, NORBIT multibeam systems, positioning systems and USBL systems.
  • Knowledge of survey software for acquisition and processing, including QPS QINSy, Kongsberg SIS, BeamWorx AutoClean, Caris HIPS & SIPS, and Chesapeake SonarWiz.
  • A proactive, flexible approach to achieving tasks.
  • Good interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Possession of a full, valid driving license.
