Due to ongoing business growth, LandScope Engineering have a vacancy for a hydrographic surveyor with a keen interest and experience in marine geophysical survey.

Our projects generally focus on inshore, nearshore and ports/harbours and tend to be measured in days rather than weeks or months.

The position offers tremendous variety and the opportunity to participate fully in survey design, execution and delivery.  Our solutions typically integrate multibeam echo-sounders (dynamic and static), mobile and terrestrial laser scanning, sidescan sonar, sub-bottom profiling, magnetometry and inspection class ROV.

The successful candidate will demonstrate an experience and innovative approach to underwater survey and inspection.  Research and development and capex responsibility to be included in the terms of reference.

The position is based in Picklescott, Shropshire a small village on the northern flank of the Longmynd range.  Offering spectacular countryside for the outdoor enthusiast.  The historic market town of Shrewsbury is within 10 miles and offers an unspoilt cultural centre and would suit a candidate looking for a more land-based hydrographic survey role.

Candidates will be degree/higher degree level qualified in hydrographic survey, geophysics or other associated geoscience discipline.  Demonstration of an exceptionally strong analytical skill-set is a fundamental pre-qualification, with proven experience or potential in software code development considered a key advantage.  A working knowledge of coordinate systems, GIS and CAD delivery platforms is also a pre-requisite.

The successful candidate would subscribe to an agreed CPD pathway – developing skills in technical solutions and development, project management, account management and team leadership.  Strong performance and willingness will facilitate rapid and diverse career development.
